I’ve had these sandals for a few months now and have worn them across a range of environments and activities.
They were my first foray into barefoot sandals and I like them a lot, but they aren’t perfect.
I followed the fitting advice and printed off a template to get the right size. I was a bit sceptical about the fit when they arrived - my toes are right on the leading edge of the sandal and I was pretty worried about injuring my toes. So far so good though - I’ve had a couple of thorns in my toes but no big hits…. yet!
The toe strap was pretty uncomfortable to begin with but I’ve mostly got used it although it still digs in on occasions - this is most pronounced when it’s wet (or the ground is wet) and I’m on rough ground or an adverse camber. I find that the sandals squirm around on my foot in these conditions and they can be hard to walk or run in. The grip with the ground remains great but my foot twists around on the foot bed. I can cinch up the laces when this occurs which mitigates things somewhat but it’s still quite uncomfortable and my footing is imprecise and making progress is made harder.
In the dry I have no such problems and I can run or walk with a pack over pretty much any terrain at speed with assurance.
I was hoping to use these well into the autumn but the issue with the wet might put a stop to that idea, however I’ve not tried them with toe socks yet and have some hope that will help reduce the amount they squirm around.
